Chapter 2

Installing noryX

noryX is installed directly through the Shopify App Store. The entire process — from finding the app to having a live dashboard — takes under five minutes. No technical setup is required.

1. Finding noryX in the Shopify App Store

noryX is available as a native app in the Shopify App Store. You can find it in two ways:

  • From your Shopify admin: Go to Apps in the left sidebar, then click Shopify App Store in the top-right corner. Search for noryX.
  • Direct link: Visit apps.shopify.com/noryx in your browser while logged in to your Shopify account.

On the noryX listing page, click Add app. Shopify will redirect you to the permissions review screen.

2. Reviewing App Permissions

Before installation is complete, Shopify displays a summary of the permissions noryX is requesting. Review these carefully before clicking Install app.

Permissions noryX requests

Read products & variants

Required to sync your catalog, analyse inventory, and generate SEO and content recommendations for each SKU.

Write products & variants

Required to apply AI-generated SEO updates — titles, descriptions, meta tags, and image alt text — directly to your products.

Read orders

Required for sales velocity analysis, inventory forecasting, and business performance insights.

Read customers

Required for audience segmentation and marketing analytics. noryX does not store individual customer PII beyond what Shopify provides.

Read inventory

Required to track stock levels, calculate days-of-supply, and surface restock recommendations.

Read locations

Required to associate inventory levels with the correct fulfilment locations in your store.

Write content

Required to update page content, blog posts, and other online store content as part of AI content generation.

Read online store pages

Required to analyse your existing page content for SEO and content quality scoring.

Read themes

Required to inspect your active theme for SEO structure and schema markup analysis.

Write files

Required to upload optimised images and AI-generated media assets to your Shopify Files library.

Write discounts

Required to create and manage promotional discount codes as part of the promotions features.

Once you have reviewed the permissions, click Install app. Shopify will securely authorise noryX and redirect you to the noryX plan selection screen.

3. Selecting a Plan

After installation, you are taken to the noryX plan selection screen. Choose the plan that best fits your current catalog size — plans are differentiated primarily by the number of products and images you can process. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from within the noryX dashboard.

If you are new to noryX, the noryX Trial plan is free and lets you explore all features with up to 25 products and 250 images — no commitment required. For a full comparison of plans and pricing, see the Plans section of the Introduction chapter.

Select your plan and click Choose plan. If you selected the free Trial plan, your dashboard is ready immediately. If you selected a paid plan, you will be directed to Shopify's billing confirmation screen next.

4. Shopify Billing Confirmation

For paid plans (Essentials, Pro, Growth), Shopify handles all billing. You will be shown a Shopify-hosted billing confirmation screen that displays:

  • The plan name and monthly price
  • Your next billing date (30 days from today — your free trial period)
  • The payment method Shopify has on file for your store

Click Approve to confirm. Shopify charges the subscription fee through your existing Shopify billing account — no separate payment method is required. Your first 30 days are always free.

Note

If you have a discount code, you will see a field to enter it on the noryX plan selection screen before proceeding to Shopify billing. Discount codes cannot be applied after billing is confirmed.

5. After Installation

Once billing is confirmed (or immediately for the free Trial), noryX redirects you to your new dashboard. Here is what happens automatically in the background:

  1. 1
    Shopify data sync

noryX performs an initial sync of your product catalog, inventory levels, and order history from Shopify. For large catalogs this may take a few minutes.

  2. 2
    Business profile creation

A company profile is created for your store. You can configure your target market, brand voice, and feature preferences from the Administration page.

  3. 3
    AI baseline analysis

noryX runs its first pass of AI analysis across your catalog — generating initial inventory insights, SEO scores, and opportunity flags.

  4. 4
    Dashboard ready

Your Homepage loads with a summary of your store health, top opportunities, and quick-access shortcuts to all features.

Your next step is connecting your Google integrations to unlock the full power of noryX's AI engine. See the Integrations chapter for instructions.
